分數之我見My View on Grades

Almost all students pay great attention ongrades because those who get high scores are considered as winners. Hence, studentsare trying their best to get high grades. Some people argue that high scoresstand for students’ ability. Some people believe that scores not equal to students’ability to handle things. In my opinion, I think that grades have nothing to dowith ability. Reasons are listed below.

幾乎的學生都會把注意力放在分數上因爲獲得高分的學生會被認爲是勝利者。因此，他們都盡力取得高分數。一些人認爲高分代表學生的實際能力。一些人認爲高分並不等同於學生處理事情的能力。就我看來，我認爲分數與能力無關。原因如下：

First of all, grades can’t representstudents’ ability to handle things. Most tests need students to recite e who have good memory can get good scores from this kind of test. However,our society needs talents who have great skills in handling things which we canobtain by experience rather than getting good scores by testing. On this point,scores can’t prove students’ practical ability.

首先，分數不能代表學生處理事情的能力。許多的測試僅僅需要學生記住一些內容就可以了。那些又好記性的學生在這樣的測試中獲得高分。但是，社會需要的是那些能夠通過經驗鍛鍊自己處事能力的人才而不是通過測試獲得高分的人。就此點來說，分數不能代表學生的實際能力。

Secondly, grades can be faked. It is acommon phenomenon that many students will cheat in the exams. In order to gethigh scores, students will use every possible means to cheat in the exam. So,scores are not trustable.

其次，分數可以造假。學生在考試中作弊很常見。爲了得到高分，學生會用各種方法作弊獲得高分。因此，分數並不可靠。

In conclusion, scores stand for nothingrelated to students’ practical ability. Besides, we can’t believe gradesbecause they could be faked.

總之，分數不能代表學生的實際能力。另外，由於分數可以造假，我們不能相信分數。

亞利桑那州 Arizona

When it comes to the issue of Arizona, I cannot always help imagining the beautiful views of Arizona where I am dreaming of travelling for a long time. Arizona is a state of the United States which is located in the southwestern region of America. Though it is not a so well-known state like Washington or California, you won’t be unfamiliar with Phoenix Suns, one of professional famous NBA team. And Phoenix is the capital of Arizona. Besides, Arizona is also famous for its baseball and football.

說到亞利桑那州的時候，我總是禁不住想象那美麗的景色，我一直夢想能夠在亞利桑那州旅行很長一段時間。亞利桑那州是美國位於西南地區的一個州。雖然它不是一個像華盛頓或加利福尼亞那樣非常著名的州，但是你對菲尼克斯太陽隊不會陌生，那是一個著名的NBA球隊。鳳凰是亞利桑那州的首都。而且，亞利桑那州的棒球和足球也是很著名的。

There are many unique types of scenery in Arizona. The most famous one is the Grand Canyon which is viewed as one of the seven natural wonders in the world. Besides, it is largely contained in the Grand Canyon National Park---one of the first national parks in the United States. In addition, Arizona is the home of one of the most well-preserved meteorite impact sites in the world. The Meteor Crater is a gigantic hole caused by meteorite. Moreover, Arizona’s desert landscape is worth seeing.

亞利桑那州有許多獨特的風景。最著名的是大峽谷，它被視爲全世界七大自然奇觀之一。除此之外，裏面主要有大峽谷國家公園，是美國第一個國家公園。而且，亞利桑那州是世界上隕石保存最完好的景點之一。流星隕石坑是由隕石造成的一個大坑。此外，亞利桑那州的沙漠景觀也是值得一看的。

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the largest airport and the major international airport in the state, is located in Arizona. So we don’t need to be worried about the transportation problems. By the way, Arizona’s public transit system is well-developed.

In a word, Arizona is a nice place to travel. I am strongly eager to visit it. I hope this day will come in the near future.

It is quite common that most students haveprivate tutors since competitions nowadays are extremely intense among studentsboth in schools and society. Many people encourage their students to findprivate tutors to help them to improve their scores of certain subject. Somepeople think students should focus on their lessons when they are in classrather than find private tutor to train them. From my point of view, I thinkprivate tutor has many advantages for students. Reasons are listed below.

由於現在學生在學習裏和社會中的競爭相當激烈，所以很多學生都請家教很普遍。許多人鼓勵自己的學生請家教，幫助學生提高某門功課的成績。一些人認爲學生應該在上課的時候認真聽課而不是找家教幫助他們補習功課。就我看來，我認爲學生請家教有很多好處。原因如下：

Firstly, private tutor can improve students’scores rather quick. Not like students sit in class with many other students,private tutoring will focus on one student a time so that a student can getspecial trainings according to his or her characteristic. Thus, by this way, studentscan improve their scores quickly.

第一，家教可以快速提高學生的成績。不像學生在學校和其他學生同坐一個教室學校學習，家教一次只能根據一個學生的'特點來做一些針對性的補習。通過這種方式，學生能夠快速提高成績。

Secondly, private tutor will save a lot oftime. Generally speaking, if students have private tutors, then they just needseveral hours to obtain lots of knowledge. While in school, teachers have toconsiderate for all students so that they will teach students a little bit ofknowledge once a time. Therefore, students in school need a relatively longtime to get more knowledge than learning knowledge from private tutor.

第二，請家教可以節省很多時間。通常來說，如果學生有家教，他們只需要幾個小時就能學到很多知識。而在學校裏，老師通常需要考慮所有學生的情況，所以老師一次只能講一點點知識。因此，與請家教學習相比，在校讀書的學生需要一個相對比較長的時間來得到更多的知識。

From above analysis, we can come to conclusionthat students can obtain lots of knowledge in a short time.

從以上的分析可知，我們可以知道，請家教可以讓學生在短的時間內學到更多的知識。

宿舍保持和諧關係的最佳方法The Best way to Keep a Harmonious Relationship in the Dormitory

There is no doubt that it isvery important to keep a harmonious relationship with our roommates since wespend most of time in the dorms as college ver, as to the best way to form strong ties with our roommates,different people have different opinions. Some insist on increasedparticipation in the group activities. Still others argue for keeping nosecrets between each other. In my opinion, enhancing communication is the bestway to maintain a good relationship with our roommates.

毫無疑問大學生在宿舍內保持和諧的關係是很重要的，因爲我們大部分時間都在宿舍裏度過。然而，說到最佳的保持關係的方法，不同的人有不同的想法，有些人認爲應該增加團體活動，有些人認爲舍友間不該有祕密。在我看來，增加交流纔是最好的和舍友保持良好關係的方法。

My suggestion lies in the following two the one hand, if we frequently exchange ideas we can know our roommatesbetter in terms of their habits, merits, demerits and so on, so that we canavoid frictions and conflicts with them. For example, one of our roommates is anight owl and she may as least make no stir as bedtime if she doesn’t change herhabit of staying up late after we talked with her peacefully rather thanquarreled with her. On the other hand, the more communication of thought, themore intimacy between the roommates there will be. By sharing happiness andsorrow we get closer to each other.

In a word, strengthening the communicationsbetween roommates conduces to a harmonious relationship. I believe that it isthe soundest approach to keep us on intimate terms. Therefore, it is high timethat we frequently exchange ideas with our roommates.

Nowadays, all sorts of translation software or electronic dictionaries are emerging in an endless stream and people can get a lot of help from using of them when studying and working. Therefore, some people say that new translation tools will inevitably replace the human translation one day in that translation software or machines are becoming increasing exact and accurate in dealing with the words or phrases, even the sentences. In addition, compared with human translation, new translation tools are more convenient and less time-consuming.

如今，各種翻譯軟件或電子詞典層出不窮，在學習或者工作中人們可以從中得到很多幫助。因此，有人說新的翻譯工具將會替代人工翻譯因爲軟件或機器翻譯在處理單詞或短語甚至是句子的時候越來越精確。此外，與人工翻譯相比，新的翻譯工具更方便、更省時。

However, on the other hand, some people hold that translation machine will never replace human translation, as computer will never replace human brain. The sentences or the passages translated by translation machines are rigid and inflexible because translation machines cannot change or convert the meaning of the words or phrases according to different occasions. And what’s worse, if we depend on translation machines too much, we will be lazy in thinking independently and likely to lose our ability of thinking.

然而，另一方面，有些人認爲翻譯機器永遠都不會取代人工翻譯就像電腦永遠不會取代人腦一樣。由翻譯工具翻出來的句子或者段落會比較僵化死板因爲翻譯機器不能根據不同場合改變單詞或短語的意思。更糟糕的是，如果我們過於依賴翻譯機器，我們會懶於進行獨立思考，可能會失去思考的能力。

Taking above into consideration, I support the latter. As far as I am concerned, we should never let ourselves controlled by digital products or other things. As for translation, I think that we should try our best to do it by ourselves at first before using the tools, especially the students.

綜上所述，我支持後者。在我看來，我們不應該讓自己受數碼產品或其他東西控制。至於翻譯，我認爲我們應該在使用翻譯工具之前盡我們最大的努力去想，尤其是學生。
