我的家鄉在梅山鄉，舊稱梅仔坑。大部分鄉民以務農爲主，最爲人知的農產品有:高山茶、蓮霧、柑橘、檳郎等。

重要景點梅山公園裏的梅花吸引許多遊客前來參觀，梅山鄉最有特色的風景區36灣﹝雲之道﹞不只是休閒、散步、遊樂的場所，更是腳踏車迷們最喜愛挑戰的景點。從山上俯瞰山下，美麗的街景一覽無餘、盡收眼底。市區街道上有座自清朝幹隆、嘉慶年間落成，祀奉主神爲北極玄天上帝的玉虛宮，是附近大部分居民的信仰中心，三月香期來臨，總是涌入全省信徒進香朝拜，也爲當地帶來觀光文化人潮。再來就是我的學校——梅山小學，創校已經百年，培育出許多社會精英，綠意盎然的校園，讓學生可以舒服、快樂的學習。

梅山鄉文化資源豐富，到處充滿了人情味，希望以後結合更多產業、文化，能夠將純樸的好地方，帶動得更有朝氣、更美好。
