Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy dayfor many boys and girls. Before the term ends in some schools, the children acta nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

12月25日是聖誕節。對許多男孩和女孩來說，這天是個非常開心的日子。在某些學校，學期結束前，孩子們會表演有關(耶穌)誕生或出生的戲劇，用來(向大家)展示耶穌是如何在馬廄裏出生的。

On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usuallythey are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. Theyounger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney orfireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy oneseven hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later thatnight, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at theside of the bed.

在12月24日這天，所有的小孩都很興奮。他們常常被(父母)早早地趕上牀去睡覺，以便他們的父母能準備好禮物。年幼一點的小孩認爲聖誕老人將從煙囪或壁爐裏下來，所以他們掛起襪子，方便聖誕老人把禮物放進去。有些貪心的人，爲了能得到更多的禮物，甚至把枕套或布袋掛起來。晚一些時候，爸爸或媽媽將禮物放進襪子，並把其他禮物放在(孩子們的)牀邊。

On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn onthe light at two o'clock, and most of them are awake by six o'clock, and theyoung ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one o'clock in theafternoon, the Christmas dinner is brought in. The turkey or chicken is quicklyeaten. Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hiddenin it. The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of allChristmas hollidays comes to an end.

聖誕節的早上，小孩們很早就醒來了。一些人甚至在凌晨兩點開燈，但大多數小孩會在六點醒來，孩子們在(大人們)準備晚餐的時候玩耍。下午一點，聖誕大餐出爐了。火雞或雞腿總是很快被搶光。孩子們尋找着屬於他們的聖誕布丁是爲了確認金幣是否有藏在裏面。在剩餘的時間裏，(人們)便是玩遊戲和吃食物直到最開心幸福的聖誕節結束。
